Aurora is the Roman goddess of the dawn, who flies across the sky heralding the arrival of the sun. She is associated with new beginnings, and is the Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Eos. Aurora is considered a sister to the sun and the moon, and four of her sons are the winds (north, south, east, and west). According to myth, her tears cause the dew as she flies across the sky weeping for another son who was killed.
